We’ve been exploring, Dwelling, by Melissa Micheals.

In the book, the author explores her experience with self-care in all aspects of her life-especially through the ways she nurtures and cultivates her home space.

Though are stories differ, she touches on many of the concepts many of us have discovered in our own personal experiences - about how we can create haven spaces in the places we dwell by consciously being aware of what we do, and invite into our spaces-along with examining our inner dwellings for insights into who we are and who we want to become.

Small steps in each of these areas regularly-sometimes daily action is not available -can act as subconscious reminders that you are loved, worthy and capable.

Consider these questions and see what comes up for you...

What form did your invitation to self care take?

  • A difficult health challenge?

  • A health struggle experienced by someone you love?

  • A season or diagnosis of anxiety and/or depression?

  • A major job change?

  • A shift in your financial security?

  • The loss of a loved one?

  • A season of fear, hopelessness and doubt?

  • A drop in energy or motivation?

  • An inspirational story, book or event?

  • Preparation for a future event or goal?

Addressing your home or work spaces as it is with the intention of reimagining as you want and need it to be can be overwhelming.

From a micro level, the multitude of steps that may need to be taken to get your interior to a place where it feels and looks the way you envision it can be a lot to take in.

To give the physical impression of self-love, and care-to reprogram your surroundings with different objects and elements is powerful and can be activating. we typically advise our clients to work closely with their therapist or a trusted friend when they sign up for our services to address emotions that often come up during the transformation process.

humans are sensitive to the way our environments smell, taste, sound, look, and feel.

As Micheals says: “Wellbeing is not a destination but an evolving life long journey.”

If your self-care toolkit is not addressing the physical environment you spend the most time in and you’re ready to shift the atmosphere-it’s time to schedule your Discovery Call.
